Why would we degrease pans, cast iron pots, polluting water, using detergents destroying anti-adhesive properties? they need to have a special treatment several times at low temperature (in a solar oven or  in a normal oven), so that a fine pellicula of oil remains and brings anti-adhesive properties. This pellicula needs to be taken care, by not using any detergent. If the pellicula is well taken care, and that you do not cook at too high temperature, just a wipe is enough. There is no health risk, no reason really to put energy at degreasing continually these pots. They just need to be taken care, dried and oiled.
